we’ve lost a father-figure
Sincerest condolences to the Nordstrom family. I’ll remember Blake for making me feel unexpectedly honored. It was November 2005, and the NorthPark store in Dallas (#723) was staging its pre-opening festivities. As I tidied and straightened in Women’s Shoes, Blake approached me, introduced himself, and asked if I needed help. I responded that I was an employee of the store. He apologized for the misunderstanding and asked for my name. He called me by name the following day as he fielded questions about the company, and even greeted me just minutes before the store grand-opened. I’ll also remember him for his calming voice in the SOTC videos, and his comedic skits with his brothers therein. RIP, Blake. In your passing, we’ve lost a father-figure. Oscar Arguijo
