It’s all in the details
So many wonderful memories of Blake. In 1994 I was the store manager of Tacoma. Blake was my Regional and took me under his wing to teach me the ropes. I decided to ask him to cover for me one day while I was on vacation (brown nosing I guess). We all know his attention to detail was like no other. He left me this note and list of 59 items he observed. They included things like #55. $1.50 fruit drink in the cafe-not a great value to #36 ‘is Dave N moving fast enough?’. Len was mortified when he saw my list thinking I would be fired. The good news for me is several others store managers asked him to fill in after me and I had the shortest list! He was a mentor, friend and a genuine nice person that cared about others (#53 ‘Mark B can’t drive-be sensitive to the shifts he is scheduled.). Thank you for teaching us that it’s all in the details My heart is broken but so glad to have known you.
