I’ve had the privilege of working for Nordstrom for 10 years now, and over that time I’ve grown personally as much as I’ve grown professionally in large part by learning to get things done while operating within the culture that Nordstrom demands – a culture that directly reflects the values of Blake and his family: respect for all, servant leadership, a tenacity for wanting to be the best at what we do for our customers’ sake, and making a difference in our communities.

The few occasions I had the opportunity to speak with Blake it struck me how he was able to engage with a warmth and friendliness that put me at ease, as though I was chatting with an old friend instead of the leader of an international, multi-billion dollar fashion retailer.

RIP Blake Nordstrom. You will be missed greatly.
